" In a Station of the Metro " by Ezra Pound was published in 1913 in the literary magazine " Poetry ". Pound was a leading figure in the Imagist Movement , known for his concise, precise language and vivid imagery. The poem, consisting of just two lines, captures a fleeting moment in a Paris Metro  station: " The apparition of these faces in the crowd; / Petals on a wet, black bough ."
